University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC) is a comprised of over 300 faculty based at the University of Wisconsin, focused on cutting-edge cancer treatment and research. Our members span 45 departments and 11 schools, with research funding totaling over $100 million.
Membership Criteria
Applicants for UW Carbone membership must hold an active appointment at the University of Wisconsin. Members are chosen for their active involvement in cancer research, peer-reviewed research support, and commitment to UW Carbone’s collaborative research efforts. Many members have published cancer-related research, participate in Disease-Oriented Teams (DOTs), lead clinical trials, or contribute to patient care and community outreach.

- Core grant funds to support relevant research activities
- Allocation of UWCCC-coordinated space for research activities

Guide to Joining the UWCCC
- Meet with Program Leaders of the program aligned with your interests. Contact information is on their program page.
- Complete the online membership application form.
- The UW Carbone Senior Leadership Committee reviews applications monthly. Acceptance requires majority approval.
- Receive & sign the membership approval letter from the Director.
Member Responsibilities
- Acknowledge UWCCC membership and shared services in cancer-related publications and presentations.
- Collaborate with other UW Carbone members on cancer-related research activities.
- Provide necessary information for the NCI Cancer Center Support Grant reporting requirements.
- Comply with Federal Public Access requirements; BuckySubmit is a time-saving service that submits manuscripts to federal agencies on behalf of federal grant awardees.
