Dr. Zhao is a physician-scientist with formal training in computer science/machine learning. He completed Radiation Oncology Residency at the University of Michigan and joined the faculty at UW in 2020 with an independent laboratory focused on computational oncology and biomarker development. His research interests extend from genomic alterations in cancer to epigenetic regulation and transcriptional drivers of treatment resistance. Dr. Zhao’s publications can be found here.
