UW Carbone Shared Resources is pleased to share the following new leadership updates:
Cancer Pharmacology Lab
Thank you to Dr. Paul Hutson, who is stepping down from his CPL Faculty Leader role due to his retirement. Dr. Hutson brought vast pharmacology experience when he stepped into the role swiftly as we went into our site visit for our CCSG 2022 renewal, and has admirably led the team through service enhancements and expansion, including the expansion of CPL ops to Eastpark Medical Center.
We welcome Dr. Sin Yin (Sean) Lim as the new Faculty Leader of CPL starting Aug. 1. Dr. Lim brings extensive PK/PD expertise to the CPL and is already diving into strategic planning for CPL services.
Biostatistics Shared Resource
As of July 1, Dr. Hongyuan Cao joined UW as the new Faculty Leader of BSR and Professor of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics. Dr. Cao specializes in statistics, especially for high-dimensional genetics and omics data, longitudinal data analysis, survival analysis, and their applications in social and biomedical sciences.
We thank Dr. Lu Mao, who kindly stepped in to serve as Interim Faculty Leader since June 2024 and provided excellent oversight of the critical biostatistics services.
Experimental Animal Pathology Lab
Dr. LaTasha Crawford has brought remarkable veterinary pathology expertise to our Experimental Animal Pathology Lab since she began her tenure on April 1. The position had previously been vacant.
