Dr. Hongyuan Cao will join the University of Wisconsin as a Professor of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics and faculty leader of the UW Carbone’s Biostatistics Shared Resource.
Dr. Cao specializes in statistics, especially for high-dimensional genetics and omics data, longitudinal data analysis, survival analysis, and their applications in social and biomedical sciences. She will begin her work at UW in July 2026.
As faculty leader for the Biostatistics Shared Resource, Dr. Cao will oversee the core’s work in providing statistical support in the design, conduct and analysis of research studies for UW Carbone’s affiliated researchers.
Dr. Cao’s professional experience includes faculty roles at Florida State University, University of Chicago, and University of Missouri-Columbia.
Dr. Cheryl Czerlanis
Dr. Cheryl Czerlanis recently stepped into the Faculty Leader role for UW Health Pharmaceutical Research Core. Dr. Czerlanis has been working closely with PRC Facility Leader Susan Johnston since October 2025 to ensure continued commitment and exceptional services and expertise from PRC for the safe and ethical provision of investigational drugs/study medications for Carbone’s clinical trials.
Dr. Czerlanis succeeds previous Faculty Leader Dr. Nataliya Uboha, who is now Associate Director of Clinical Research for Carbone. We thank Dr. Uboha for her excellent leadership during her PRC tenure.
