New Equipment Announcement – Mediso nanoScan uPET/CT and NeoScan N80 Ex Vivo uCT

The Small Animal Imaging and Radiotherapy Facility (SAIRF) is pleased to announce the addition of two major pieces of instrumentation to enhance research capabilities: the Mediso nanoScan micro Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography (uPET/CT) and the NeoScan N80 Ex Vivo High-Resolution uCT.

This acquisition, made possible through the NIH S10 Shared Instrumentation Grant and the VCFA/OVCR Research Core Equipment Loan Program, significantly enhances the SAIRF’s ability to support high-quality, quantitative biomedical research.

The Mediso nanoScan uPET/CT is the gold-standard for in vivo imaging, enabling high-throughput visualization and quantification of molecular imaging agents in small animals. The NeoScan N80 Ex Vivo uCT achieves single-digit micron resolution, ideal for detailed ex vivo analysis across bone, material science, and other applications, and features an autosample changer for high-throughput study sets.

Both systems are available for use. After initial training, self-usage is scheduled via iLab. Please contact SAIRF@uwcarbone.wisc.edu for training and access.
