The Wisconsin Oncology Network (WON) was established in 1998. Starting with eight member sites across the state, it has since grown to 19 sites in Wisconsin, northern Illinois and western South Dakota. To date, more than 1,800 patients have participated in WON clinical studies, leading to numerous publications and scientific presentations.
The Wisconsin Oncology Network (WON) is a regional network that allows community health centers to enroll patients in select cancer clinical trials that are open at the UW Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC). Non-UW sites account for nearly one third of accrual to UW clinical trials.
WON was created in 1998 to extend the conduct of clinical oncology trials into the community. WON has evolved to encompass research efforts in the region on a broader scale through the UWCCC’s status as a Lead Academic Participating Site for the National Clinical Trials Network.
WON members have access to advanced molecular imaging techniques through the Wisconsin Oncology Network for Imaging eXcellence (WONIX).
WON is led by Co-Directors Drs. Nataliya Uboha and Ryan Mattison. For more information about this network, or to learn how you can get involved, please contact the WON Affiliate Coordinator by email or (608) 265-2867.
