UW Carbone welcomes the exchange participants for their Oncology Grand Rounds presentations:

Dr. Whitney Zahnd (Iowa)- April 30 “The Role of Rural Providers and Hospitals in Supporting Patients and Communities across the Care Continuum”

Dr. Aimee Merino (Minnesota)- May 6 “Developing Effective NK Cell Therapies to Treat Multiple Myeloma”

Midwest Exchange Program Overview

Selected applicants will be invited to a participating cancer center for a prominent speaking engagement, one-on-one faculty meetings, and other opportunities as available.  All expenses will be covered by the centers, including a $600 honorarium.

Program Mission

Provide career development opportunities for early career faculty cancer center members via invited presentations at peer Midwest universities.

    • Develop relationships with potential research collaborators, mentors and sponsors
    • Hone oral presentation skills
    • Bolster CVs in preparation for promotion

Participant Eligibility

  • Assistant Professors with a Cancer Center membership
  • Priority selection given to individuals who are in the final years of building their CV for promotion

Application components

  • Application form including number of talks given and statement of interest
  • CV or NIH Biosketch
  • Letter of recommendation from mentor or collaborator
