We are excited to share that Dr. Betsy Rolland has taken on a new role as the Director of Team Science + Research Development for the UWCCC and ICTR.
In this role, Dr. Rolland will lead the development of resources and tools to support the expansion of complex team-science projects in both cancer and translational science. She is available to help researchers build multi-disciplinary teams in response to funding opportunities, identify both potential funding opportunities and potential collaborators for your work, and provide evidence-based consultations to existing teams on improving their team processes.
Dr. Rolland will also be working with Dr. Héctor Valdivia to launch a new “R01 boot camp” called MATRIX (Mentoring to Achieve Research Independence) designed to help SMPH and UWCCC investigators develop their first R01 submissions. In addition, she will continue her work as the PI of the Cancer Center Cessation Initiative (C3I) Coordinating Center, an NCI Cancer Moonshot-funded project focused on integrating smoking cessation services into clinical care at 42 NCI-designated cancer centers across the US.
