Without the ability for patients to enroll on clinical trials, patient care diminishes. In general, access to care is often caused by health disparities, says Rice. There are a variety of patients in the United States who do not have access to healthcare for many reasons, including insurance status or where they live, Rice adds. The workforce issues in healthcare continue to be worrisome.
