Medical Director, Cancer Imaging
Dr. Pickhardt reports to the Director on cancer research and service issues involving cancer imaging/radiology/nuclear medicine. Increasingly, radiology-trained providers are involved in diagnosis and care of cancer patients including image-directed biopsies for diagnosis and research, placement of necessary medical devices, and therapeutic measures (e.g. ablation of lesions) to cancer screening. Dr. Pickhardt is Professor of Radiology and internationally recognized in the development and current standardization of CT colonography (“virtual colonoscopy”) and is an independently funded investigator in the study of colonic lesions (R01CA169331 and Fox Chase Cancer Center led R01CA155347).
