Breast Cancer Research Advisory Network
The Breast Cancer Research Advisory Network (BCRAN) is led by Amy Fowler, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor of Radiology and by Lisa Arendt, DVM, PhD, Assistant Professor of Comparative Biosciences.
The BCRAN was created in 2014 by Drs. Jim Shull, Lee Wilke, and Mark Burkard and is the first research advisory network at UW Carbone. Network members include breast cancer researchers and patient advocates, including breast cancer survivors.
Mission
When it comes to setting research priorities, patients and survivors haven’t always had a seat at the table. BCRAN seeks to build partnerships between advocates and scientists to enhance the relevance of research to patients with breast cancer.

BCRAN Members Are…
- Staying connected with each other
- Connecting with researchers
- Learners and leaders
BCRAN Resources
BCRAN members can be involved with research proposals and grant submissions by reviewing their proposals and writing letters of support.
