Associate Director, Informatics
Dr. Tachinardi is responsible for the global and strategic planning of informatics for UWCCC and its integration with the larger UW Health community. Dr. Tachinardi supervises administrative, clinical, and research informatics within UWCCC. Examples include providing advice to Dr. Shull on the Cancer Informatics Shared Resource, supervising the maintenance/expansion of ONCORE® along with Clinical Research Leadership, and expanding informatics hardware and software for large scale data collection (images, genomics) of WONIX and Precision Medicine Molecular Tumor Board.
Dr. Tachinardi, an experienced team builder and project leader, as evidenced by his roles/titles – Chief Research Information Officer (CRIO) for UW Health and UW SMPH, Associate Dean for Biomedical Informatics, UW-SMPH, and Head of Planning and Chair of the Steering Committee for the Health Information Management Center. Prior to UW, he was at the University of Chicago (UC), where he was the Assistant Dean for Academic and Biomedical Research Informatics, as well as Director of Clinical Research Informatics for the UC Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Office of Clinical Research. As a physician and health researcher, Dr. Tachinardi is a funded Co-Inv on the UW NIH/NUCATS CTSA award and the site PI for a PCORI funded Greater Plains Collaborative Clinical Data Research Network Phase II project.
