The Sony schedule is now live in iLab for booking.<\/p>\n<p>Training consists of 2 sessions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>AM Session: \u00a09:30-11:30am \u2013 Start-up &amp; QC Training<\/li>\n<li>PM Session: 1:30-3:30pm \u2013 Cell Sorting &amp; Shutdown Training. \u00a0Customers should bring stained cells for sorting. Training will include setting up the sort, adjusting sensitivity, compensation, sorting, saving a template, rigor and reproducibility considerations, and instrument shutdown.<\/li>\n<li>Staff is available for additional training\/assistance as needed. \u00a0Please email the Flow Lab at <a href=\"mailto:uwflow@uwcarbone.wisc.edu\">uwflow@uwcarbone.wisc.edu<\/a> if you need staff assistance during a self-run reservation during set-up, or for a new assay.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sonybiotechnology.com\/us\/instruments\/ma900-multi-application-cell-sorter\/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwwY-LBhD6ARIsACvT72O_VeYfx13m9fzooH3hG_ABiSflCVMpIITIxxb1FoXiJ8iygQSfbKoaAmdYEALw_wcB\">Sony MA900<\/a> is a highly automated cell sorter allowing for end-user self-operation and we will be training researchers to operate this instrument independently. \u00a0This will allow for more flexible scheduling, and will be available to trained researchers after-hours and on weekends to accommodate unusual time points, long pre-processing workflows, and clinical research samples with later arrival times.<\/p>\n<p>The MA900 is capable of sorting up to 4 populations simultaneously into tubes, single and multiple cell deposition into 6 \u2013 384 well plates and other custom devices, including PCR plates. \u00a0Equipped with 4 lasers arranged in co-linear pairs: \u00a0488nm &amp; 561nm, and, 405nm and 634nm, 12 fluorescence detection channels, and ability to customize emission filters for specific fluorochromes.\u00a0Contained in custom biological safety cabinet for sorting up to BSL-2 single cell suspensions.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cancer.wisc.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Sony-MA900-Optical-Bench-1.png\">Sony MA900 Optical Bench<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cancer.wisc.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Sony-Fluors-and-Filters.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sony MA900 Fluorochrome and Filter Guide<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-20725\" src=\"https:\/\/cancer.wisc.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Sony-Open-for-Training-Flyer.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1275\" height=\"1650\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Training slots for self-sorting on the Sony MA900 Multi-Application Cell Sorter is available beginning the week of February 7, 2022.
